'If you can imagine it you can create it'
Button Bicycle was set up in 2013 by textiles designer Lottie Baxter. Working from her home studio in rural Oxfordshire and juggling life as a mum and designer, Lottie's aim is to create inspiring, individual and beautiful things, while spreading the joy of creativity, whether they be our quirky cushions, our beautiful brooches, our craft kits and patterns or the experience of one of our workshops. With a philosophy to make our world a better place, creativity, mindfulness and joy are always at the heart of what we do. We are often inspired by the natural world and endeavour to make sustainable choices to protect or world where ever we can.
It's all about living the dream!
Lottie was born in Derbyshire and grew up in Yorkshire, before moving to Faringdon, Oxfordshire, where she now lives and works as a textiles artist and designer under the name Button Bicycle. She obtained a BA(hons) in textile design at York St. Johns University college and has also completed a teaching qualification at Leeds University. Lottie designs and creates bespoke textile curiosities, and couture, including commissioned dressmaking, printing, felting and embroidery. She also has a passion for sharing the joy of creativity, which she does through her workshops and beautifully collated craft kits. Together with my husband Steven and our two little buttons we are currently renovating our Georgian house doing most of the work by ourselves. I love that this gives me another opportunity to put my creative skills to work.
